Sponsorship is needed for DC SPO, Maryland Guard, and GSA Contract Guard Training.
For both Armed and Unarmed Training.
DC Residents, that have registered a handgun with the District Of Columbia, is required to take a handgun course. The course must be at least 4 (four) hours of classroom instruction and at least 1 (one) hour of firearm range training.
DC SPOs are required to have a drug screen, a physical and a background/criminal history check.
