The Department of Homeland Security/Federal Protective Service now requires that potential/new contract guards meet the following minimum qualification:   

1. One {1} year security experience and one {1} year of college work)
2.        Three (3) years of security experience within the past five (5) years OR
3.        An Associates Degree, or at least 60 (sixty) semester hours of college coursework/credits, in any field of study OR
4.         Three (3) years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience OR
5.        Successful completion of Police Officer's Standard Training (POST) course OR
6. Any of the combonation above
